I have to be honest I haven’t felt the need to write in a while. It’s not like I’ve haven’t come up with any new ideas recently I’m just not ready to put them down on paper. (Or what ever the hell the paper equivalent of Microsoft Word is.)

I have decided to begin writing on this blog, and start writing one of my ideas for a television screenplay as a novelization. Be gentle as it is my first time trying to write something like this.

Possible Mass Effect 3 spoilers ahead.

***

Last month I got my copy of Mass Effect 3 getting the chance to finish the story of Commander Jewel Sheppard, or I hope to have finished it. You might have seen or heard the controversy about ME3’s ending. While at first I sided with the community who were shocked with the game’s ending. Until I thought about it as someone who has tried to write stories in the past.

It’s always hard to say goodbye to characters you have gotten to know over the past five years, it’s even harder to write a satisfactory ending for characters you have created. Every Commander Sheppard has saved the Citadel, died, been revived, destroyed the Collectors, destroyed a star system, and nearly wiped out the Batarians. How the fuck to you create an ending for a guy like that? Does he live, write a book about how he saved all of our asses, and settle down with his sexy blue lady until he dies of element zero poisoning?

I’m not saying the ending we got is okay, but I do think people are being unreasonable. The TV show “Lost”, the anime “Angel Beats”, and the video game “Bioshock” are some example of stories ending weird or bad, but over time I’ve come to terms with. It’s hard to end something you put so much of your life into.  I hope everyone who enjoyed the Mass Effect game will remember the 90 plus hours they put into the three games, and understand that five minutes of bad cannot erase 90 hours of amazing.

Netflix and I have a weird relationship. I thought watching anime was behind me, then Netflix thought I might enjoy “School Rumble” (I did) now I’m watching anime again. Netflix thought I might enjoy Korean action movies (I do), and now four of my Top 10 slots are for Korean television shows. See what you have done to me Netflix!
